3 days Bwindi Gorilla Safari
Join Wild Calling Africa Safaris on this 3 days Uganda gorilla safari in one of Africa’s most loved National Parks; the Bwindi Impenetrable national park. The 3 days’ gorilla trek Bwindi involves a hike during which you can expect to see forest elephants, primate species including chimpanzees and L’Hoest’s monkeys, duikers, bushbucks, African golden cats, the rare forest hog as well as a host of bird and insect species.
DAY 1: TRAVEL TO BWINDI VIA UGANDA EQUATOR & IGONGO CULTURAL TOUR
A wild calling Africa safaris guide will pick you up from your hotel after breakfast then set off to Bwindi Impenetrable National park driving through Kampala towards southwestern Uganda. There will be a stopover at the Equator monument in Kayabwe for photography where the earth is divided into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. While here you may opt to look into African shops to buy some crafts and souvenirs.
We will then proceed to Mbarara where we will have lunch and a tour around the Igongo cultural museum which is armed with an illustrious history of the western culture and the Ancient life of the Ankole Kingdom before finally driving out to Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Arrive in the late afternoon for check-in, relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
DAY 2: GORILLA TREKKING EXPERIENCE IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST
After an early breakfast on day 2, we will head out for our trekking experience. The first stop will be at the park headquarters where park officials will brief you about the code of conduct of gorilla trekking in the forest. You will then be grouped into 8 individuals with other tourists trekking gorillas and be guided into the forest by park rangers.
This experience ordinarily takes 2 to 8 hours and requires a reasonable level of fitness and health. In case you have a physical limitation, there is still a chance for you to enjoy this Uganda gorilla trekking by taking special arrangements at an extra cost where Porters lift you on a local wheelchair all the way through the forest to spot the gorillas.
Bwindi impenetrable national park forest also offers 350 bird species, 310 butterflies, 200 tree species, and 120 primates including, the chimpanzees and the Black and White Columbus monkeys.
DAY 3: TRANSFER FROM BWINDI NATIONAL PARK BACK TO KAMPALA
After breakfast on Day 3, we will head back to Kampala. Via the Mbarara route to allow you to have a brisk experience of the Lake Mburo National Park. Drop off on day 3 will be at Entebbe International Airport or any other preferred drop-off point of your choice.
